Global Scalability & Longevity
Evergrove is rethinking end-of-life care by addressing the most critical pillars in this space — sustainability, memorialisation, inclusive access, and mental health.
These four principles form the foundation of a nature-positive and compassionate approach that honours life while protecting the planet. Here’s how Evergrove brings these pillars together to create a future-ready approach, purpose-built to meet the needs of diverse communities across the world for generations to come. To bring this future to life, we need partners who share this vision. Governments, industry leaders, communities, investors, and faith organisations - reach out to us to help shape this innovative path forward. Together, we can create a death care solution that serves both people and planet, redefining what it means to honour a life well-lived.
The Challenge: While cremation emits substantial co2, existing cemeteries already occupy around 1% of the world’s arable land, a figure that will only increase with population growth—an unsustainable trend. Governments are grappling with a shortage of cemetery space, especially for religious and cultural groups who require dedicated burial sites. Similarly, planting a tree or creating a memorial garden for every individual, though meaningful, would require just as much land as traditional burial, making it impractical on a large scale.
Our Solution: Evergrove’s model is carbon-neutral with the potential to be carbon-negative. It is designed to be both scalable and sustainable, integrating seamlessly with existing practices like scattering ashes and accommodating those who prefer or require traditional cemeteries. By using the nutrient-rich earth to nourish existing trees and gardens in multi-use green spaces—such as local parks, community gardens, and natural areas—we create meaningful places of remembrance without dedicating new land. Any remaining earth can be directed toward environmental restoration projects, including carbon farms that contribute to further CO₂ sequestration. Our approach preserves land, honours existing memories, and ensures a practice that is sustainable and meaningful for generations to come.
Outcome: Evergrove’s approach provides a balanced, sustainable way to honour loved ones while significantly reducing land requirements, freeing up more space for future generations and environmental impact projects. By combining the best aspects of both burial and cremation, we eliminate the logistical constraints of traditional burial and the environmental drawbacks of cremation, offering a new way forward that heals both people and the planet.
Scalable Sustainability
The Challenge: One-size-fits-all solutions cannot respond to the rich diversity of beliefs and traditions that shape end-of-life choices across the world. Many communities currently lack an option that is both spiritually compatible and nature-positive, leaving a gap in meaningful, environmentally sustainable options.
Our Solution: Evergrove is committed to working with secular, religious, and cultural communities to understand their unique needs and co-design tailored Terramation offerings that complement our standard services.
Outcome: By creating an inclusive and flexible model that honours the diversity in how humanity grieves, we maximise the accessibility of Terramation and expand its positive impact on people and the planet.
Democratised Access
The Challenge: People are increasingly seeking eco-friendly options, but scalable, sustainable solutions for end-of-life care are still limited. Existing practices - such as planting memorial trees, scattering ashes in places of meaning, and laying flowers - show that we intuitively turn to nature to honour our loved ones. However, there is no option that truly embeds this connection, offering a lasting, impactful choice that reflects both our environmental values and the role of nature in the grieving process.
Our Solution: Evergrove’s nature-positive approach aligns with a growing, global concern for the environment. As more people seek sustainable practices in all aspects of life, we believe end-of-life choices should reflect this commitment. Our approach builds on longstanding cultural traditions of honouring nature in remembrance, transforming these practices into a lasting, collective legacy of ecological restoration.
Outcome: By transforming remembrance into a living legacy of ecological restoration, we elevate traditional acts of honouring loved ones into a collective impact that can sustain and nurture the planet for generations and millenia to come.
Desirable Memorialisation
The Challenge: Modern death care facilities often lack spaces that truly support the grieving process.
Our Solution: Evergrove’s sanctuaries leverage everything we’ve learned from the fields of mental health and grief across human history, creating facilities designed specifically to support individuals and communities in their time of need. These spaces are places of beauty and solace, crafted to honour loved ones and foster healing by reflecting the values of the people and communities they serve.
Outcome: Purpose-built spaces for remembrance and healing, offering a sanctuary designed with empathy for one of life’s hardest experiences, where families can gather and reflect in a supportive environment.
